We have two bass guitar teachers at Renaissance. Jeremy and Dave are both comfortable in a wide range of styles, from heavy rock to jazz and blues. Students can learn from either tablature (visual depiction of hand positions on the instrument), or traditional musical notation.

Jeremy DawMusic has always been a part of Jeremy's life, even before he could play an instrument. Being the son of musicians, he was exposed to the life of recording and touring from a very young age. Music consumed him as a teenager and peaked his interest enough to allow him to excel in multiple instruments, bass being his favourite. Jeremy attended Humber College's Jazz Program from 1999-2002, where he studied bass and arranging with some of Canada's elite music teachers, including; Lenny Boyd, Mike Downes, Alistair Kay, Don Thompson, and Rik Emmett. Since graduating, Jeremy has had the opportunity to perform in; Canada, Cuba, Finland, Sweden, Barbados, Czech Republic, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Jeremy has attained credits for more than 60 projects as a session bassist, which include 2 of Mary Lambert's Juno nominated albums. He has taught bass seminars at music conferences and also teaches bass and guitar lessons. Jeremy has recorded 3 of his own albums and is currently working on a 4th. He currently plays with "The Torres Band", "Ryan Lewis", "JSO", "Allen Froese", and others. His diverse influences and eclectic musical preference allows him to be extremely well rounded in various musical styles. Some of Jeremy's musical influences include: Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joe Vannelli, Keiichi Tomita, & Donald Fagen. |
